Veterans Day @ WDS

Our 5th-8th grade had a meaningful Veterans Day Assembly on Friday. Martin Askowitz, great grand father of 6th grader Judah, spoke to students about his experience in the Air Force. Students also learned about the service of many veterans connected to our community and watched some video messages from veterans the students wrote cards to. The program ended with an inspiring Zoom presentation by Sergeant Jason Nunez. Students asked questions about his 16 years of service in the marines and were excited to see the K9 unit he trains.
