Shavuot Scholarship Campaign

What is the Shavuot Scholarship Campaign?

It’s one of our largest fundraisers of the year — a 36-hour community-wide effort to raise vital scholarship funds. These funds ensure that every child can experience the magic of a WDS education, regardless of financial means. As a bonus, every dollar raised in this campaign will be matched 1:1 by a generous donor.

When is the Shavuot Scholarship Campaign?

Traditionally set around the Shavuot holiday, we will launch our 36 hour peer-to-peer fundraiser on Wednesday, May 28th - Thursday, May 29th.

Our theme is Kol Echad V’Echad — כל אחד ואחד — Every One Counts.

This past year has highlighted the pressing need to strengthen and support access to Jewish education—particularly a WDS education, where students are empowered with the knowledge and confidence to navigate today's challenges and those that lie ahead.

As we count the days from Pesach to Shavuot, we are reminded: the journey to receiving the Torah was not taken alone. It was a moment of unity—Kol Echad V’Echad—every single person stood at Sinai. Every soul mattered. Every voice was heard.

This is the spirit that drives Westchester Day School and the heartbeat behind our 36-hour campaign: Kol Echad V’Echad – Every One Counts.

At WDS, every child counts. We are guided by the words of Mishlei: חנוך לנער על פי דרכו – Teach each child according to their path.

In our classrooms, students are nurtured, challenged, and inspired—each in their own unique way. From joyful early learning to deep Torah exploration in middle school, we are shaping the next generation of Jewish leaders: learners, thinkers, mensches.

In an uncertain world, we anchor our children in what truly matters—Torah, Avodah, and Gemilut Chasadim. We don’t just build knowledge—we build character. Our students give tzedakah, support Israel, and bring kindness into their homes and communities.

Your support helps us attract outstanding educators, offer exceptional programs, and provide a warm, vibrant environment where every child can thrive.
