Grades 2-8 Admissions

Applications for Grades 2–8

Applications for Grades 2–8 are reviewed on a rolling basis as space permits. We encourage families to submit applications by February 1, 2027, for consideration for the 2027-28 academic  year. Applications received after this date will continue to be considered if space is available.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

● Teacher evaluation forms
● School records and transcripts
● Professional testing reports, when applicable

For Grade 2-we require a General Studies Teacher Evaluation

For Grades 3-8 we require both a General Studies and Hebrew and Judaic Studies Teacher Evaluation.  

Teacher recommendations are submitted directly by your child’s teachers through the link provided in the Blackbaud application checklist. School records (report cards) are required for students entering Grades 2–8 and can be uploaded through the Blackbaud application portal. Professional testing reports may be uploaded through the application or emailed to slinder@westchesterday.org.

School Visits 

After receiving your child’s application, the Admissions Office will contact you to arrange a school visit, when applicable.

Tots (2’s): A school visit is typically not required.

3’s through Kindergarten: Students visit WDS on Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m. The Admissions Office will contact you to arrange the visit after receiving your child’s application.

Grade 1: The Admissions Office will contact you to arrange a short school visit at a mutually convenient date and time.

Grades 2–8: The Admissions Office will contact you to arrange a school visit at a mutually convenient date and time. This will be a half day visit depending upon your child's age. 

For those applying from out of the area--we will arrange a virtual visit. 

Admission Decisions

 After receipt of all requested forms and information and your child’s visit, the Admissions Committee will send a letter by email with its decision. If your child is accepted, a tuition contract will be  emailed to you and must be returned within two weeks.
