A Yom Yerushalayim Kabbalat Shabbat

Yom Yerushalayim marks the 1967 reunification of Jerusalem after 2,000 years. The day is celebrated with special tefillot, and for this year’s kindergarten, their Kabbalat Shabbat program!

With a stage backdrop evocative of when the soldiers regained control of the Kotel, kindergarteners sang about Shabbat and why it is special, with added songs about the kotel to honor the day.

The performance ended with the Mi Shebeirach for today’s chayalei tzahal. The kavanah of these youngsters as they sang this special prayer brought tears to many, and, in the words of one attendee, “brought the house down.” Mazel tov!
