Ganon Woodworkers Build Their Own Sensory Wall

WDS’s youngest learners become carpenters each week as they don goggles to drill, sand, and clamp in woodworking. Under the guidance of woodworking expert Naomi Feuerstein, founder of Overlook Woods, our Ganon students are using their skills to build an outdoor sensory wall for the school.

When complete, the wall will be affixed outside the WDS garden for everyone to enjoy. Students are constructing tactile and interactive panels for the wall, which will include a ball run, an abacus style panel using recycled bottle caps, a musical feature, and a lift-a-flap panel with wooden “doors.”
