Kindergarten Celebrates Siyum Sefer Bereishit

There is no greater joy than hearing a student say, “I can’t wait to hug and hold my very own Torah!” This was the universal feeling for WDS’s kindergarteners as they prepared for their Siyum Sefer Bereishit this month.

Starting at Simchat Torah, our kindergarten students have studied parshat hashavua in developmentally appropriate, creative, and engaging ways. Along the way, they created, through their own drawings and words, recountings of each parsha. These weekly parshiot were then lovingly bound together in scrolls, for which each child created his or her own beautiful, unique mantle, yad, and belt. 

With Bereishit concluded, our kindergarteners celebrated the completion of their extensive studies with a siyum, learning together with parents and special guests to share the joy of this milestone accomplishment.
