Bringing Parsha Lessons to Life in Ganon Classrooms

Academic • Thursday, 05 Nov 2026

WDS teachers really know how to take a lesson and make it both fun and impactful for their students. In the Early Childhood division, our Ganon teachers are bringing their creativity into their weekly parsha lessons.

Ganon Yarok explored Parshat Lech Lecha by taking the classroom outside. Attempting to count the individual grains of sand along the shoreline, students found meaning in the promise that “Your descendants will be as numerous as the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore!” Ganon Adom took to the stage to explore Parshat Lech Lecha. Students donned costumes and acted out the lessons they had learned.

Ganon Kachol used story time as an opportunity to learn about Parshat Noach, complete with model figures of Noah and his ark. Last week, Ganon Sagol learned that the name Isaac means "to laugh." Using this knowledge as a prompt, students decorated cookies with silly faces that would make anyone laugh. We continue to be so impressed with the creativity and care put into all lessons at WDS and we can't wait to see what these crafty morahs will come up with next!
