First Grade "Enchants" with Fairy Tales

Our first graders welcomed guests for their fairy tales publishing party this month! The morning began with davening, as guests joined our first graders to daven from the siddurim received earlier in the year.

With davening complete, the grade split into groups to read their fairy tales aloud. These creative tales, such as “The Evil Cookie and the Candy King,” “The Good Police Officer,” and “The Magical Egg,” incorporated fairytale elements that our first graders have been learning about this spring. 

Using graphic organizers to develop these stories, student created characters, a setting, a conflict, and a resolution. Students then prepared drafts before writing their final books, complete with a dedication, illustrations, and an all about the author page.

Our first graders thoroughly enjoyed the process and were so proud to show off their work!
