Hundreds of WDS Wildcats Join Parade
The theme of this year's Israel Day Parade on 5th was "Proud Americans, Proud Zionists." This theme, to honor the upcoming 250th birthday of the United States, is one of our six core values at WDS.
With American and Israeli flags held high, our strong and energetic delegation of 350 students, faculty, and parents made their way down 5th Avenue with 50,000 other marchers, in the world's largest Jewish gathering.
Of course, our enthusiastic marchers were not the only proud WDS Wildcats in attendance. The stands were lined with WDS families, and alumni. One alumna made a point to introduce herself to Rabbi Rockoff: 1984 graduate Jessica Plotnick, daughter of our first head of school, Headmaster S. Maurice Plotnick.
It was a celebration of pride and enduring connections, to Israel, to Am Yisrael, and to WDS!
