Third Grade Brings Rashi to Life

Academic Wednesday, 04 Mar 2026

With lively scenes, humor, and fully Hebrew dialogue, our third graders shone in their Rashi play earlier this month, exploring how Rashi clarifies the Torah’s text and uncovers underlying values.

Using Avraham's and Sarah's lives, the play highlighted key themes from Rashi, such as zerizut (running to do mitzvot), shalom bayit, and deep emunah and patience in moments of challenge. From Avraham’s energetic hachnasat orchim to the powerful Akeidah, students showed how Rashi helps us see the Torah more clearly, like glasses that bring everything into focus.

Under the direction of the talented Morah Deena and Mr. Sandy Shmuely, our third graders brought Rashi to life!
