WDS is dedicated to excellence in its educational product. While budgeting prudently and as frugally as possible, we proudly invest heavily in our educational offering and we work hard to ensure that all aspects of the WDS experience continue to be best-in-class.
Since our founding in 1948, we have never turned away students based on financial need. WDS proudly offers four distinct and complementary programs to ensure that every family in the Westchester area can afford a WDS education:
- Matrix Tuition Reduction Program (see below): Under which families with adjusted gross income (AGI) up to $400,000 receive partial relief from the scholarship fund payment for their children in kindergarten through 8th grade.
- Income-Based Tuition Cap Program: A groundbreaking program that allows families with at least one child in grades K-8 to receive up to 40% off tuition based on their AGI (adjusted gross income) alone, without the need to complete a scholarship application. This unique program has significantly reduced the need for our traditional scholarship program. Since inception of this program, about 60% of all WDS tuition assistance has been based on a Form 1040 alone.
- Traditional Scholarship Program: Under which families requiring more than a 40% reduction in tuition can obtain the necessary relief through a discreet, respectful and confidential scholarship application process.
