Fundamental to the mission statement of Westchester Day School is that "First and foremost, a WDS student is a mensch. Our students conduct themselves with dignity and respect for themselves and others. They have a strong sense of right and wrong and are guided to be ethical in their lives".
A critical component to being a WDS mensch is having a sensitivity to the needs of others and the drive to be an upstander who says "how can I help?". The Westchester Day School Community Volunteer Grant aims to give back to the local Westchester community with a pledge of at least 75 hours of volunteer time per year.

Get creative! You can share your proposal using the Google Form below, and let us know how you plan to get involved. Families can volunteer together, individually, create opportunities for others, and more!

Step 2: Explore local volunteer opportunities. Research programs, non-profits, and organizations to determine how your family will fulfill your hours of volunteer work.
