About Us

Our Mission: What’s our WHY?

Westchester Summer Day (WSD), a summer program of Westchester Day School,

serves children, teens, and young adults of all backgrounds. WSD is committed to

its community, inspiring them to live as mensches and to impact the world around

them through experiences rooted in Jewish values that nurture lasting

relationships and foster a lifetime of memories.

WSD’s Core Values:

At camp, we strive to be a mensch by treating everyone with respect, honesty, and

kindness.

Manhigut - מנהיגות - Leadership

Campers show manhigut when they set a positive example, help others, and step

up when needed.

Kehillah - קהילה - Community

Our camp kehillah is strengthened when everyone works together and makes each

person feel like they belong.

Chemlah - חמלה - Compassion

We practice chemlah by caring for others, listening with empathy, and offering

support when someone needs it.

Yetziratiyut - יצירתיות - Creativity

Camp encourages yetziratiyut by inspiring campers to explore new ideas, solve

problems, and express themselves in unique ways.

Lev Tov - טוב לב - Kindness

A camper with a lev tov looks for opportunities to help others and spread positivity

throughout the day.

Pli’ah - פליאה - Wonder

Camp is full of pli'ah as campers discover new interests, explore nature, and create

unforgettable memories.
