Health & Safety @ WSD
At Westchester Summer Day, our campers' health, safety, and well-being are at the heart of everything we do. Our policies, procedures, programs, and staff training create a safe, supportive environment where every child can have a successful summer.
Our on-site Health Center is staffed by experienced medical professionals who are available throughout the camp day to care for campers as needed. Our medical team works closely with families to manage allergies, administer prescription medications, and address each camper’s individual health needs.
Safety is also a top priority in our aquatics program. Our swim program follows Red Cross guidelines. Trained, certified lifeguards supervise our pools, and our swim program provides campers with appropriate instruction, supervision, and individual attention based on their swimming ability.
Beyond physical health and safety, we recognize the importance of each camper’s social and emotional well-being. Our Support Team works closely with campers, families, counselors, and camp leadership to help children feel comfortable, connected, and successful at camp.
Westchester Summer Day is proudly accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). ACA accreditation reflects our commitment to meeting nationally recognized standards for camp operations, administration, programming, staff practices, and the health and safety of our campers and staff. We are proud to meet these standards and remain committed to providing a safe, high-quality camp experience for every member of the WSD community.
From the pool to the playing fields and everywhere in between, our goal is to create an environment where campers feel safe, supported, and ready to enjoy everything a summer at WSD has to offer.
